Beginning to be Glam and Green

Being Green is all about small changes. The thing I'm most passionate about is RECYCLING, but I've recently discovered that you can also be glam while still being green .

While I'm still discovering differnet ways of being green and helping our planet, I recently discovered two brands of beauty products that are earth friendly as well as resonably priced

WOOLWORTHS EARTH FRIENDLY RANGE

I had just happened to quickly glance up in the aisle at a Woolworths store when I saw their 'Earth Friendly' range. My green heart gave a little jump for joy as i knew more people would be able to become more green because it is such an accessible range. Products range from Body Wash to Tissue Oil. These products are made with naturally-derived, plant-based, biodegradable ingredients and contain no petrochemicals, no animal ingredients and no artificial colours .Every product carries the endorsement of Beauty Without Cruelty. It’s not just the products which are environmentally-friendly , where possible, Woolworths has used recyclable bottles which themselves are made from at least 30% recycled materials.

Not only does Woolworths have an earth Friendly beauty range, but also a cleaning range which is gentle on the environmnet. Take a look at Treevolution's article on their cleaning products http://www.treevolution.co.za/2008/09/woolworths-to-launch-earth-friendly-cleaning-products/

Another range that i discovered, is the Naked range exclusive to Clicks.

What Naked say about their product:

Yes, we've removed the bad stuff. And the natural active extracts we add in are widely recognized as being the best at what they do eg. Cocoa Butter for moisturizing, Sunflower for sun damage protection, purest Rose oil for anti ageing.
But you may be asking why we don't use parabens, SLS and petrochemicals in our Naked products. After all they are in the vast majority of toiletries on most bathroom shelves, so can they really be that bad? For us, it's all about choice - about preferring to reduce our toxic load and use as many friendly ingredients as possible.

What i also enjoy about the Naked range is that all their bottles are made up of 50% recycled plastic! Imagine then recycling them again what a difference it could make! Plus, since the range is exclusive to clicks, you get to earn Clicks Club Card Points ;)

Hope this will help you think the next time you need to buy beauty products
And i know that you"ll recycle your empty beauty product bottles ;)
