A Few Lipstick Shades for Winter

 



As the weather gets colder, our lipstick shades get darker right? I love wearing dark plum lips during winter but sometimes a darker nude or pink is just as great.

 

These are a few of my lipsticks that I've been loving this winter season that are either natural with organic ingredients or cruelty free (stated below).

 

 

From left to right:

Zao "468" - natural and cruelty free

Oh Karen Murrell, you really know how to steal my heart away.

 

This beauty is the latest addition to my Karen Murrell lipstick collection. It is the vibrant Fuchsia Shock shade that I wore in this FOTD post.

 

Made from natural and pure ingredients such as candelilla; evening primrose oil & castor oil and totally recyclable packaging!

 

This pink is similar to my beautiful Sugar Rush shade but has more of a blue tone to it and is more suitable for winter.

[FOTD]: Makeup Look 01

Face Of The Day

So I thought it would be fun to start some FOTD (Face Of The Day) posts on my blog to show you the different make up looks I create day to day and what products I use. Similar to my YouTube videos but it'll will just be of my finished products not the whole routine.

Some of the products have been featured on my blog before so you can link on their links to read more about them. 

Skin:

To start off, this weather in Pretoria has made my skin so dry so I use 3 drops of Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum to prep my skin.

Face:

 NYX Stay Matte Not Flat foundation in 02 nude. 

 LA Girl Pro Conceal in Natural (under my eyes to help with my dark circles).

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Powder (on my cheeks) 

Eyes:

 Brow Amplifying Tint & Lift (with RegenaLash) from Measurable Difference

LA Girl Eyeshaow Collection in Nudes - I used the fifth shade for my whole eyelid; the sixth shade on my outer eyelid and the first shade as my highlighter on the inner corner of my eye and brow bone. 

Lashfood Conditioning Liquid Eyeliner on my top eyelid (will post a review on it soon). 

Catrice Ultimate Lash Multimizer in Ultra Black (2 coats).

Lips:

Karen Murrell Lip Balm in 01

[STYLE] : Take Me To Paris

Outfit Post

 

Hi there beautiful!

 

Paris is the place that is actually number one on my bucket list at the moment! I was luckily enough to visit France in December but I flew straight to Grenoble to the French Alps. Plus since I'm such a summer baby, I'm dreaming of summer picnics under the Eiffel tower (while gorging on macaroons and pastries); walks along the beautiful streets; visiting the Love Lock bridge and of course, my ultimate, visiting the Palace of Versailles. I'm enchanted by Marie Antoinette and fascinated by The French Revolution so it would be a dream come true to go to Versailles!

 

At the moment, this t-shirt as well as all the Parisian pictures in my room, are the closest I'm going to get to Paris... one day soon I'll get to visit it (hopefully).

Hi beauties!

 

As you know from this post and this post, I love Karen Murrell lipsticks! They are so hydrating; long-lasting and creamy! Plus the lip balm is the best lip balm I've ever tried!

 

All Karen Murrell lipsticks are made from natural based ingredients - "nothing nasty touches my lips" is the slogan for these gorgeous lipsticks.

 

This is the Sugar Rush (018) colour and is the perfect bold lip choice colour for summer! It's a rich and vibrant pink with candelilla; evening primrose oil & castor oil.

REVIEW: Karen Murrell Lip Balm

Moisturising Stick from Karen Murrell

 

 

One of my favourite lipstick brands at the moment is Karen Murrell and I was so spoilt for my birthday when I received two products as gifts! I've reviewed the Peony Petal lipstick which is a gorgeous peach, and here you can read more about this brand and why I love it so much!

 

This Moisturising Stick (01) by Karen Murrell was one of my favourite products in November and you can hear me chat about it in my latest YouTube Video.

 

 

Made from ingredients such as beeswax; Jojoba oil; Avocado oil; Evening Primrose Oil & Calendula Oils, this moisturising stick is exactly what it's name states - moisturising!  Since it's so hydrating - you can even apply a thick layer at night as an intense treatment for your lips. As I mentioned in my video, this is one of my favourite lip balms! I'm obsessed with it!

 

It's pricey at R359 but in my opinion, it's worth it! Full of goodness, no nasty ingredients and super hydrating - yes please!

REVIEW: Karen Murrell Lipstick

Peony Petal by Karen Murrell

  

Hi beauties!

I can't tell you how long I have been lusting over a Karen Murrell Lipstick! My desire of owning one of these lipsticks grew after reading some of my favourite international green beauty bloggers rave about them on posts like this one from Hello Dollface and this one from Genuine Glow . 

Before I share some more photos of this gorgeous lipstick, let me tell you more about why they are such fabulous green beauty lipsticks. Karen Murrell lipsticks don't contain any mineral oils; animal-based materials; parabens or preservatives. They are made from natural based ingredients. Even their packaging is eco-friendly, the canisters dissolve in 100 days and return to Mother Earth and the outer packaging is 100% recyclable! 

 

I love this Peony Petal shade - it's a beautiful peach colour, with a hint of coral as well as a nude. It's a gorgeous colour that can be worn all year round but I think this shade is perfect for spring and summer. With ingredients such as Shea Butter; Sweet Orange Oil; Evening Primrose Oil; Jojoba Seed Oil; Avocardo Oil and Beeswax, this lipstick is both hydrating and nourishing. Active ingredients such as Evening Primrose Oil; Castor Oil and Candelilla make sure of this! It has a scent of cinnamon and citrus and this is from the oils.
