[REVIEW]: REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial

Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial from REN Skincare

A sleep mask that helps transform your skin overnight, that's what this night-time facial from REN Skincare is all about.

With ingredients such as a complex of Glycolic and Lactic Acids from Yeast, Pineapple and Passion Fruit that refine and brighten skin tone; Tocotrienols from Cranberry Seed Oil that help reduce UV damage; Omega 3 from Arctic Blackcurrant Seed Oil which repairs and soothes as well as Sodium Lactate from Yeast which moisturises and plumps skin. This treatment leaves your skin brighter, more luminous, refined and even toned in the morning. All of this happens through the 3 phases that happen while you sleep.

Apply 2-3 pumps about twice or three times a week. It might tingle (this hasn't happened to me yet) but that's only because of the different bio extracts. This treatment can be used in all skin types except sensitive skin. I use it about twice a week and love how my skin feels the next day.

This treatment retails for R650.00 and can be bought here.

[REVIEW]: REN Lip Balm

Vita Mineral Lip Balm from REN Skincare

So I posted this photo on my instagram on Monday but I actually wanted to tell you a bit more about this lip balm because it's become a beauty essential for me this winter.

A rich balm that consists of Shea butter; cocoa butter; beeswax; vitamin E; elements of calendula and acacia honey helps replenish dry and chapped lips. It's super nourishing and leaves your lips feeling soft and hydrated.

The slanted tip allows easy application and the best part is, it's easily absorbed.

It's R150 which is pricey for a lip balm but it's one that you'll keep with you at all times and I know you'll enjoy it just as much as me!

[REVIEW]: REN Hot Cloth Cleanser

Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser from REN

As many of my readers will know from my blog posts and YouTube videos, I'm a huge fan of REN and have loved every product that I've tested from them. This latest product is from their Rosa Centifolia range and is ideal for everyday cleansing use.

This Hot Cloth Cleanser is very similar to their Express Make-Up Remover in my opinion, but don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about that. If you read my post on that cleanser, you will read how much I loved it.

This is a two-phase cleanser in the sense that you open your pores with the hot cloth and then by rinsing your face with cool water, you close your pores. This cleanser decongests; purifies you skin and help removes your make up. Apply it to dry skin, massage it in to help remove make up and then place your cloth over your face for a few seconds (pretend you are at a spa) and then wipe off the cleanser. Rinse your face with cool water after as mentioned before.

This cleanser is great to use now in winter because a) you can use the hot cloth which just makes it so much more pleasant to clean your face and b) it's rich and creamy so will help hydrate your skin.

This cleanser retails for R330.00 and can be bought at Woolworths or online.

What are your thoughts on hot cloth cleansers?

[REVIEW]: Instant Firming Beauty Shot

Instant Firming Beauty Shot by REN

I'm going to be honest with you, REN never ceases to amaze me. Each of their products that I've tried, I've just loved. Enough gushing though and let me tell you more about the latest REN product I tested recently.

When it comes to the Instant Firming Beauty Shot I can't actually tell you if it's the effect or the scent of this product that I love most! It has a sweet rose scent (rose is one of my favourite scents) that makes you just want to use it all over your body! The scent fades though when you apply it to your skin but once it's applied to your skin, that's when the magic happens.

When applied to your skin it really is an instant firming beauty shot! It's a gel-like serum and you only need about 2 drops. I think 2 drops is adequate as then it absorbs into your skin quicker. To me, my skin instantly feels firmer which is always a plus when you didn't get enough sleep. You apply it under your moisturiser and can even use it as a pick me up for you skin during the day by lightly patting it over your make-up. I sometimes you it in the mornings and at night, depending if my skin needs an extra pick me up.

This little miracle in a bottle helps to plump your skin and leaves it looking smoother and tighter! I've really enjoyed using this product and by only using a little bit, it should last quite a while!

This product retails for R475.00 and can be found here.

[REVIEW]: REN 1 Minute Facial

Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial by REN

I've mentioned in a few blog posts and even in this video on face masks that I'm terrible when it comes to remembering to apply face masks at least once a week. At night when I've completed my beauty routine I never feel like sitting around for 20 minutes when I could rather be getting ready for bed. Am I the only one that feels that way? Well it seems REN came to the rescue!

I've had this face mask for a while but have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to really put it to the test. I love REN products, they are cruelty free and try keep as many nasty ingredients out as possible so they are a big part of my skincare routine so I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed with this mask.

The past few weeks or should I say months rather, have been quite stressful and this has taken it's toll a bit on my skin. I'm super lucky with my skin in terms of hardly ever having breakouts but I started noticing bumps on my face that looked similar to a slight rash and I knew this was due to stress. Long story short, this 1 minute facial has really helped!

Packed with water activated Vitamin C, this mask starts off as a ever so slightly grainy textured gel which you massage into your skin. You then dampen your fingertips and massage your skin again to activate the Vitamin C. Once activated, the Vitamin C helps to brighten your complexion; reduce imperfections; evens out your skin tone and helps to firm and tone your skin! Leave it on for one minute, yes only one minute and it's like you've been for a facial! Glowing and radiant skin? Yes please!

REN suggests using this mask every 3 days and says its for all skin types except sensitive skin, but the reviews I've read are from beauties who have sensitive skin and they haven't had any bad reactions.

This 1 Minute Facial is available at Woolworths and Foschini for R470 and is well worth it!

July 2014 Favourites

My Top Picks for July 2014

Hi friends!

I thought it would be fun to share what products I've been loving this month. Often I write reviews on these products but sometimes they need a bit of extra loving on the blog! Only after I had taken all my photos did I realise I had missed a few products but those will be showcased at the end of August.
Hope you enjoy my picks!

Davines: Absolute Beautifying Velvety Cream
This body balm is light enough to be worn in the day, I was expecting it to be a lot 'heavier' but it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. It also contains roucou oil which you can read more about in this Davines review here.

Healing Earth: Marula & Neroli Body and Face Balm
This product I gushed about so much in this review and I love applying it on my body at night. I've even started using it on my face about twice a week to add some extra hydration to my skin. Still obsessed with the scent!

REN: 3-in-1 Cleansing Water:
I've been using this every night and you can read more about my thoughts on this product here. Again, another product that has a scent I adore!

Pure Beginnings: Body Wash
This body wash has a citrus scent which reminds me that spring is almost on its way! So great for those early morning when you need to be fresh and ready for a busy day!

MAC: 187 Duo Fiber Face Brush
This brush was my mom's but she wasn't enjoying it so she kindly passed it along to me. I've had it for a while and mainly used it for my face powder but then I decided to use it for applying my foundation - best decision ever! It's fantastic for blending!

Measurable Difference: Brow Amplifying Tint & Lift
Another product that has become a daily staple. I love that it tints and fills my brows - you can read more on what I think about it over here.

Physicians Formula: Happy Booster & 27Pinkx: Angled Brush
This bronzer has become one of my favourites as you can go for a dark bronzed look or you can add more of a blush effect to your cheeks (under the brush is a highly pigmented pink heart for blush). To apply this bronzer, I've been using my 27Pinkx angled brush - you can read more about 27Pinkx here.

So what do you think of my choices? Any of your favourites mentioned here?

REVIEW: REN Cleansers

Rose Centifolia Cleansers from REN

Hi lovelies!

Happy Monday! Today I'm starting off the week with a new review from REN. I've never tried any REN products before so I was delighted when the contacted me to tell me about their new ranges. I've been fortunate to test out a few of their products these past few weeks but I've decided to break it down into a few different reviews. Before I start telling you about these two cleansing products, let me tell you about REN.

REN has a philosphy of clean skincare which can be summed up in three words, performance; purity & pleasure. REN uses only 100% plant and mineral derived actives and is free from skin-unfriendly synthetic ingredients. They are also cruelty-free! You can read more about REN here.

REN has two new products in their cleansing range, the Rosa Centifolia 3-in-1 Cleansing Water and the Rosa Centifolia Express Make-Up Remover. Both of these products have become a stable in my cleansing routine. Interesting fact, Rosa centifolia flower extract (found in both of these products) is an extract of the flowers of the cabbage rose and is said to help tighten the skin and reduce pore size.

I have extremely sensitive eyes and can only use a few products when it comes to removing my eye make-up but I'm happy to report that I didn't have any bad reactions to this make-up remover. This cleansing milk is made from a blend of oils and rose water and is effective enough to even remove waterproof mascara. Add a pump of this to a cotton wool pad and sweep over closed eyes. I wear quite a bit of masacara *Hi my name is Cassidy and I'm addicted to mascara* so I found I needed to sweep over my eyes a few times, but I eventually got the hang of it after a few uses. This product retails for R240 and should last you quite a while as it's 150ml and you just need a small pump when you use it.

This beauty right here has become one of my top products because of two reasons: 1) it's made from rose water which is one of my favourite scents and 2) it's the most convenient product. Let's admit, when you've had a long day and all you want to do is climb into bed, your cleansing routine can seem like a real drag right? While this detergent free cleansing water is a 3-in-1! It's a cleanser; make up remover & toner - hello simplicity! Apply to your face using a cotton wool pad and voilĂ , you're done! My only problem with this cleansing water is that it says it is suitable for the delicate eye area but like I mentioned, my eyes are so sensitive and haven't agreed with this cleanser so I have to avoid my eye area.  This cleansing water is R250 for 200ml.

REN is available from Woolworths, Foschini or here on their website.

Have you tried any REN products - I'd love to hear what your favourites are!

Love Always, The Glam Green Girl xXx
