Cool Nail Shades for Summer

Let's Cool It Down This Summer

Hi beauties!

Summer season usually means bright pinks and oranges for your nails but this season I've been drawn to the cooler shades of blues; greens and purples.

These are three of my top shades at the moment!
{FYI: Toy Nail Polish is 3-free; cruelty free and the bottles are made from recycled glass and Wet n Wild is cruelty free!}

Wet n Wild "I Need a Refresh-Mint"

Toy Nail Polish "Turquesa"

Toy Nail Polish "Maaji's Ocean"

August 2014 Favourites

My Top Picks for August 2014

Hi friends!

So I know this post is a bit late, but as some of you would have read, I need to take a little blogging break for a few days. There are only a few products that I really loved in August but I know that September's post is going to be a big one!

These three products I received at the end of July at the Bloggers Who Bless Christmas In July party and I've really enjoyed using them. I have already reviewed them so here are the links for them and the reasons why I love them - Dermafix Vitamin Therapy Masque ; Blendbox Firm Body Scrub and the Suigo Vital Nutrition Hair Care Range.

I won this nail polish from Toy South Africa a few weeks ago, along with a purple nail polish & a multi-coloured glitter nail polish but I've been loving this colour for winter and think I will even be rocking it in spring & summer! Toy Nail Polish is 3-free and they use recycled glass for their packaging so I love that they are green! This shade is called "Mojito mood". Here is the link to my instagram pic of my nails.

I mentioned this candle on my Christmas In July Wishlist and my secret santa aka Irina from I'll Take It All bought it for me *yay*. I love burning this candle while I'm working - my whole room smells divine - just like vanilla cupcakes. I think Yankee Candles are such a great gift to give - who doesn't love a scented candle?

Hope you enjoyed my choices - let me know if you've tried any of these products?

Love Always, The Glam Green Girl xXx

Nails: Monochrome Mani

Black & White

On Saturday we hosted my brother's 20th birthday party at our house and the theme was black & white so I thought a monochrome nail look would suit it perfectly! I'll be posting some pictures soon of the decor and how I reused glass jars!

These are the polishes I used:
Zoya Snow White
Tip Top Black Forest
Zoya Anchor & Amor as my base and top coat
I also used a nail art pen from Essence to create the dots and the heart

What do you think of this look?

REVIEW: The Laser Beautique

The Laser Beautique and "Project Pedicure"

A few weeks ago I was invited to receive a complimentary manicure or pedicure at The Laser Beautique in support of "Project Pedicure".

Project Pedicure:

"The Laser Beautique and the Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) have partnered to launch the unique campaign “Project Pedicure”. The Laser Beautique, along with the support of their customers, has committed to shoeing 40 horses in the Tembisa coal yards. For every pedicure or manicure booked at The Laser Beautique from 1 July until 31 September 2013 The Laser Beautique will donate R20 to Project Pedicure! It’s Guilt-free pampering for a fantastic cause."

The Laser Beautique

From the moment I walked into The Laser Beautique in Woodlands Shopping Centre (Pretoria) I instantly felt welcomed! There was such an amazing atmosphere in the salon! It was one of the beauticians birthday so the whole salon celebrated by wearing cute headbands, I even got to share some of the birthday girl's cake!

The mani and pedi station was under construction when I went but I was inofrmed of this before I arrived for my appointment.

I chose O.P.I Pandamonium Pink - I love this colour for spring! So pretty!

I received a divine manicure and that along with the brilliant service I received will definitely be the main reason why I go back!

Have a look here to see where there is a salon near you!

NAILS: The Nautical Look

Nautical Nails
with
Zoya & Tip Top

On Saturday night I hosted a girls night at my house and the theme was "Sea Shimmy" (we all know how much I love anything that has to do with the ocean) - so I dressed up as a marine and decided it was time to have a little fun with my nails.

I can't do nail art, I can't even paint my nails properly but I was pretty happy the way they turned out! I used plain stickers ( rectangular white ones) to help me with the lines for the striped statement nail. Now that I've tried it - I can practice new looks!

These are the polishes I used (both brands are toxin free) :

From left to right:
Zoya Indigo; Tip Tip Cream Puff & Zoya Karina

I love the nautical look and it was so easy to create - definitely going to rock this look again soon!

Have you tried a similar look?
What do you think of the nautical look?

NAILS: "Cream Puff"

Tip Top Nails - "Cream Puff"

One of the big trends for nails for this summer season is white, and I love it! I never used to like white nails because sometimes it looked like they were painted with Typex but I am a total fan this season!

I painted this colour on my nails on Friday night and I just fell in love! I thought it would look cool for Joburg Day and go along with the whole festival vibe! I did have to paint three coats but it's now Tuesday and they haven't even chipped (yay).

What do you think of this colour? My mom described it as 'vanilla' - thought that was such a cute description as it's not completely white but has a bit of a cream tint to it hence the name "Cream Puff".

I will definitely be wearing this on my nails a lot through out spring & summer!

ps: I bought this from Clicks for R39.99

Winter Beauty Products 2013

My Top 9 Products for Winter 2013

It's 5 weeks till spring but the dry winter air is still looming here in Pretoria - here are a few of the products I've enjoyed using this winter to keep me looking my best:

1. Balm Balm Recovery Bath and Body Oil Spray - since its almost spring, that means its almost bikini time and this spray is so great after a hectic gym session

2. Karma Naturals Body Butter -won this body butter from Live Green Beauty and it's been such a great product to use when I suffer from dry skin

3. Zoya Nail Polish "Sam" - I love this colour for winter!

4.Beauty Factory Co Hand & Nail Cream (originals) - I keep this on my desk to keep my hands moisturised through out the day

5. Alima Pure Lip Balm "Sweet Pea" - This lip balm is a great colour to wear during the day, but the reason I love it is because of the peppermint oil!

6. Dr Hauschka Nourishing Rose Body Wash - I love the scent and the beautiful essential oils

7. Balm Balm Rose Geranium Hand Balm - I've been using this hand balm on my face (all their balms are multi-purpose), the rose geranium is great for dry skin

8. Esse Eye Make Up Remover - I've only just started using this product but I love it already, I wear a lot of eye make up so I use it after I've washed my face just to get the last remaining traces of make up off (look out for a full review soon)

9. The Victorian Garden Day Moisturising Serum -  this review says it all!

What products have you been loving this winter? I'd love to hear what your favourites have been!

On a side note, I was recently interviewed by Live Magazine, be a darling and please check it out :)
