[REVIEW]: Powder Power Duo

Prime And Fine Powder from Catrice & Powder Brush from 27Pinkx

When it comes to powder, it can either be your best friend and emphasise your complexion or it can ruin your whole makeup look. To be honest. I've never been a huge fan of powder, I used to apply a small amount under my eyes to help hide the circles but sometimes when you're out all day or running around, you need to give your foundation a little bit of help.

Now I know that this powder is not natural or organic but it's cruelty free and affordable and I received in a press drop a while ago so I thought I'd give it a bash. This translucent loose powder gives your skin a velvety feel, but adds a matt effect and helps fix your foundation so you have long lasting coverage throughout the day. Needless to say, I am a fan since I don't feel like it cakes on my face and have been using it when I know I don't have time for touch ups.

This blush/powder brush is from 27Pinks new range. It's a multi-tasking brush made from synthetic bristles that are hand cut and cruelty free. The fibres are so soft and I love the gold trim.

While this brush is suited for applying blush, I used it to apply my powder and have most recently been using it to apply my foundation as a buffing brush due to the full, rounded shape! Just try it - you'll thank me later ;)

This brush retails for R220.00 from 27Pinkx.
PS: how fab are these brushes from 27Pinkx? They remind me of Barbie!

[STYLE]: Valentine's Girls Day

Outfit Post

So on Saturday it's Valentine's Day, and I know you're all probably so sick of all the Valentine's Day posts but *confession* this will be my first proper Valentine's Day *eeeek* so I'm going to soak it all up. Even though I'll be spending the weekend with my special person, we all need to remember to take time out for those that are closest to us, our friends.

This past weekend I went for breakfast with Irina from I'll Take It All; Ali from Seams and Silhouettes and Chicara from Lipgloss Kisses - I love spending time with my girlfriends!

I decided to wear this pretty pink dress and yes, it is the pink version of this dress and like I mentioned in that post, it was such a great bargain and I can dress it up or down!

ps: I could have eaten all those cakes at Life Grand Café in Waterkloof!

October 2014 Favourites

My Top Picks for October 2014

Hi Beauties!

It's that time again where I share some of my favourite products from the month before!

First up is the Pure Beginning Eco Roll On Fragrance Free. This was the first natural deodorant that I've tried and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. This might be too much information but I sweat a lot haha, even in the coldest winter *face palm* so if it works for me, it will work for you - plus its natural so it doesn't contain any nasty ingredients.

I blogged about The Make Up Bullet last week (you can read the post here) and even showed it off to my girlfriends this past weekend while I was in Cape Town - perfect for your make up under your eyes!

Last month when I blogged about the Angel by Thierry Mugler fragrance I mentioned that I have a love/hate relationship with this perfume. While since it's been featured in my favourites post for October you can tell that it's definitely been more love than hate lately!

I reviewed this Hair care range by Davines in May and have rediscovered this All In One Milk. You only need a few sprays otherwise it does weigh down your hair but it's been helping to keep my hair hydrated!

My go-to eye shadow palette has definitely been the NYX Parisian Chic one - love all the colours and as you can tell from the photo, the gold colour has been my colour of choice each time!

Have you used any of my top October choices lately?

REVIEW: The Make Up Bullet

New Make Up Tool

A few weeks ago the lovely sisters from 27Pinkx kindly sent me the sought after Make Up Bullet to try out. The MakeUp Bullet was created by Eva Jane Bunkley, an Emmy Award winning makeup artist and is a Hi Def cosmetic finger sponge.

At first I wasn't too sure what to make of it but now that I've gotten used to using it, I reach for it everyday while doing my make up.

The sponge fits perfectly on my index finger and has become my new best friend for applying concealer under my eyes. It can be used for any make up application but I like to use it for my concealer. The sponge can be washed and re used and is hypo-allergenic!

It's a pretty pricey tool but is practical and blends well! You can get yours here for R300.

Have you tried something like this before?

STYLE: Leather Trimmings

Outfit Post

Hi everyone!

So I've mentioned in a few posts that I've been trying to slow down with my shopping addiction by going on a 'shopping ban' as I honestly have no idea where my money has been going lately. I must admit, I have been pretty well behaved - you can even ask Chicara from Lipgloss Kisses as I've been constantly moaning to her haha.

Anyway, the other day I was out with my brother and I spotted this cool top at Factorie, I knew I shouldn't have even picked it up but I was so chuffed when I saw it had been marked down to only R90.00! My friends like to call me Bargain Barbie as I always managed to find good deals and I mean who hasn't been loving a bit of leather this winter?

On the weekend, I met up with some of my girlfriends for a late lunch and the weather had been so great the whole week but was miserable on Saturday so I thought it would be the perfect occassion to wear my new top. I wanted to make it edgy and cool so I wore it with my leggings (which you'll notice I pretty much live in) along with black wedge boots and paired it with a black envelope clutch that I also once bought on sale, as well as a super rad Batman ring that was also on sale (told you I love a good bargain!).

I love Batman, like seriously love! In highschool all my pencil cases were Batman ones so when I saw this ring was on sale from It's a Bling Thing for only R20.00, I obviously had to get it!

For my make up, I used my Dr Hauschka Eye Shadow Palette as well as the Roitfield shade from my 27Pinkx High End Palette to create a slight smokey eye.

What do you think of the leather trend? Have you added some pieces to your winter wardrobe?
Oh, and obviously this isn't real leather ;)

STYLE: On Wednesday's We Wear Pink

Outfit Post

Hi friends!

Today's outfit post is dedicated to one of my favourite colours this winter, pink! As a real girly girl, pink is actually not one of my favourite colours but this season I've been wearing more pastel pinks. Pink has been a trendy colour for winter especially the pastel and blush shades which I prefer to that bright Barbie pink (don't get me wrong though, I do love hot pink as a statement colour).

I'm lucky that my mom and I are similar sizes (and we're the same shoe size *oh yes*) so I definitely encouraged her to buy this coat as I had the ulterior motive of borrowing it occasionally ~ sneaky sneaky.

This pastel pink can be worn in the day with a casual look or dressed up night. For night time looks, I usually wear all black with a smokey eye and use this coat as a statement piece.

Since this was a daytime look and I wanted the focus to be on the coat, I kept the make up and accessories light. I used my 27Pinkx eye shadow palette (you can read more here) and my AYA lipstick "In The Buff" (you can read more about it here).

Are you a fan of pinks?

July 2014 Favourites

My Top Picks for July 2014

Hi friends!

I thought it would be fun to share what products I've been loving this month. Often I write reviews on these products but sometimes they need a bit of extra loving on the blog! Only after I had taken all my photos did I realise I had missed a few products but those will be showcased at the end of August.
Hope you enjoy my picks!

Davines: Absolute Beautifying Velvety Cream
This body balm is light enough to be worn in the day, I was expecting it to be a lot 'heavier' but it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated. It also contains roucou oil which you can read more about in this Davines review here.

Healing Earth: Marula & Neroli Body and Face Balm
This product I gushed about so much in this review and I love applying it on my body at night. I've even started using it on my face about twice a week to add some extra hydration to my skin. Still obsessed with the scent!

REN: 3-in-1 Cleansing Water:
I've been using this every night and you can read more about my thoughts on this product here. Again, another product that has a scent I adore!

Pure Beginnings: Body Wash
This body wash has a citrus scent which reminds me that spring is almost on its way! So great for those early morning when you need to be fresh and ready for a busy day!

MAC: 187 Duo Fiber Face Brush
This brush was my mom's but she wasn't enjoying it so she kindly passed it along to me. I've had it for a while and mainly used it for my face powder but then I decided to use it for applying my foundation - best decision ever! It's fantastic for blending!

Measurable Difference: Brow Amplifying Tint & Lift
Another product that has become a daily staple. I love that it tints and fills my brows - you can read more on what I think about it over here.

Physicians Formula: Happy Booster & 27Pinkx: Angled Brush
This bronzer has become one of my favourites as you can go for a dark bronzed look or you can add more of a blush effect to your cheeks (under the brush is a highly pigmented pink heart for blush). To apply this bronzer, I've been using my 27Pinkx angled brush - you can read more about 27Pinkx here.

So what do you think of my choices? Any of your favourites mentioned here?
