[STYLE]: Air Stripe

Outfit Post

During the past few months, I've been on a Nike sneakers craze since creating my birthday wishlist on Superbalist for my family and friends last November. While I've added some really cool ones to my collection, I was lusting over an all white pair.

I finally found them online at Superbalist - the Wmns Air Force 1 Ess! I posted this picture on Instagram when I got them - totally worth saving up for!

ps: lets not even act likes it's even a surprise to you guys that I'm wearing stripes again haha!

[STYLE]: Slate & Salt

Outfit Post

Grey has always been one of my favourite colours and I love that I've transgressed it into my summer wardrobe and even into my hair at the moment! While I often wear black and white, this look is a bit darker than what I usually wear and reminds me of 'American Horror Story: The Coven' vibes.

I paired this Cotton On dress (which has great slits on the side) with these cute Saltwater Sandals that are perfect for summer. By adding the white sandals and necklace, it just lifted the colour of this outfit a bit.

You'll also notice in this outfit post that I'm wearing my FitBit, it was one of the best purchases I ever made! Constantly helps me to stay active through the day and challenge myself!

[BEAUTY]: Summer Hair Care

Products I'm Currently Using This Summer

Summer time for me, means spending most of my days in the swimming pool pretending to be a mermaid, or frolicking in the waves of the ocean if I'm lucky enough to be at the coast during the festive season.

While I will always love being in the water, the chlorine from swimming pools and the salt from the ocean, takes a toll on your hair.

Needless to say, my usual OCD routine with my hair care has cranked up another notch to stop my hair from drying out. This means I'm switching between different hair masks and have been doing oil treatments more often.

I've reviewed these treatments before so some are almost finishing and some I had two of so you can read more about each one on the links:

I like to apply this from roots, yes that's right, roots to tips and then sleep with it in. This gives my hair that extra nourishment it needs and allows it to soak in the oils from this premium oil.

This is one of my favourite masks. It smells heavenly and works wonders at revitalising my hair.

Davines is one of my top hair care brands that is green and glam and while I only use this mask now and then as it's quite 'heavy' on my hair, it's great for hydrating and strengthening your hair.

While this is not a mask, it's a definite treatment for your hair in my opinion. You need to leave it on for a few minutes and less is more when it comes to this conditioner.

How do you keep your locks shiny and healthy during summer?

[REVIEW]: Illuminating Skin Finish - Vita Liberata

Organic Illuminating Skin Finish Cream in Latte Light from Vita Liberata

Tanned skin without sun exposure is vital for youthful looking skin, but it is also great to have a glow all year round. I'm often outdoors and while I love being outside, I always protect my face no matter what. This often leads me to having a paler face compared to the rest of my body (which is also always slathered in sunscreen).

Vita Liberata is an organic luxury self-tan brand that offers spray tans and tanning products for at home. I went for one of these spray tans last year and it looked amazing but their is a certain ingredient in self tan that I'm allergic too and I broke out in a rash. I've tested out a few self tan products and I have the same reaction :(

When I received this BB cream, I was nervous that it would have the same reaction on my face that most self tanners have on my body. I applied a small amount on the inside of my arm to test for an allergic reaction and am happy to report that after applying it a few times to my face, I've haven't reacted badly to it!

This BB Cream can even be applied to arms, neck and decollete area to enhance that summer glow. It gives a soft, dewy finish to you skin but doesn't offer that much coverage. That being said, while attending pool parties and summer nights out, you don't really want to be wearing a cake face of make up so it's perfect to give you that summer glow. It even contains small shimmer particles which help 'capture the light'.

Another bonus with this BB cream is that it has SPF 25!

Use a small amount and remember to blend, blend, blend!

This product retails for R825.00 (hefty price tag, I know!) and can be bought online here - Faithful-To-Nature also stocks Vita Liberata products and are currently having a sale on some!

Have you tried this luxury organic self tan brand?

[REVIEW]: LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint

Glazed Lip Paints and Swatches from LA Girl

Like I've mentioned in previous LA Girl posts, this brand has become one of my favs! Too be honest though, these Glazed Lip Paints really caught my eye because they looked like dupes to the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks . I've never tried them, but the packaging looks the same (oh how I wish we had Too Faced in South Africa!)

These liquid lipsticks are highly pigmented and the colour stays the whole day (that's a huge bonus in my eyes). While these lip paints give you colour like you're applying a lipstick, it gives the glossy finish of a lipgloss.

Other then the pigmented glossy finish and staying power, another reason I've been enjoying these lip paints is the peppermint oil they contain. Gives your lips a cooling effect plus they have Vitamin E so it helps keep your lips nourished.

These Lip Paints have a tip applicator to help your apply them and are available at Dis-Chem. They only have about 6 colours available but I'm really hoping they bring in the nudes collection soon!

Below are the two colours I purchased, Bombshell & Blushing. Bombshell is a bit too vibrant for me (even though it does not really look like it in the photo), but I've really been enjoying wearing Blushing on days where I want a bit more colour (you guys know I love my nude lipsticks).

Which one is your favourite?
Have you bought any of these Lip Paints?
