STYLE: River Island Pool Glam

Outfit Post

Hi beautiful people!

I bought this beautiful bikini top last year when River Island opened at Rosebank and I was completely obsessed with it, I still am actually. There was a matching bikini bottom but I didn't buy it because a) it was quite expensive and b) it was just too much for me as the top is quite distracting enough already. So I now pair this with a plain black bikini bottom.

Where's better to show off this bikini than on a roof top pool in beautiful Cape Town?

STYLE: Sea Side Story

Outfit Post

Hi friends,

At the end of November I headed to Cape Town with my girlfriends for a little pre-birthday weekend. As some of you know, I lived in Cape Town for 9 months while interning at a magazine and I just loved it - Zambia & Cape Town are definitely my second homes!

While in Cape Town, my best friend Amanda happily obliged to play 'photoshoot photoshoot' with me as we couldn't let the beautiful scenery go to waste.

This outfit was a real bargain as I bought the top and skirt at factory stores so I pretty much paid R20 for the top and R80 for this cute skirt! Winning!'

Top: Cotton On
Skirt: Factorie
Sunglasses: Cotton On
Bag: China Mart
Shoes: Woolworths

Cape Town Lights Up for The Rhinos

Light up, Light up

Last night beautiful Table Mountain in Cape Town had a special lights display of an image of a Rhino to create awareness of the 32 rhinos killed this month as well as the horrific number of rhinos killed in 2012, 668 to be exact!

The display was Table Mountain National Parks pledge to help protect the rhinos,
"All nations, all the people of South Africa must work together to save the majestic large rhino; if we don't - what chance is there to save the smaller species from extinction? By the gesture of the projected image, we all pledge our support to all those who are battling this scourge against our beautiful natural assets," they said in a statement. Link from News24

Along with the Hawks anti-poaching helpline number 071 348 8630 , the image was up for an hour.

Thank you so those that were involved - I feel its a great way to remind people of the terrible slaughter that is happening to these beautiful animals and to motivate us all to do our part in saving the rhino!

What are your thoughts?

Stunning Sunday Snaps

Franschoek & Stellenbosch, South Africa

On Sunday the 25th of March, 2012, my mom and I decided to take a little trip to Franschoek for the day. I haven't explored that side of the Cape yet, so I was really looking forward to a great day with my mom.

While walking around, my mom spotted this bath that had been re-used and turned into a couch (yes, she has been Glam green Girl trained ;) )

After walking around Franschoek we decided to go for lunch at a place that a friend recommended. Its called Deli CAT Essen and is situated at the Tokara Wine and Olive Farm in Stellenbosch - click here to view their website.

As soon as we parked the car, we knew it was going to be a beautiful lunch

You are surrounded by beautiful views everywhere, what a pleasure, eating a divine lunch and being immersed in the beauty of nature.

Apart from the stunning views, what captured me the most about Tokara, Deli CAT Essen, was their dedication to nature and the environment.

Check out the sculptures below that were made from natural resources

Amazing right?

These jungle gyms for the kiddies really captured me, it teaches the kids that nature can be fun. I love how its made from re-used resources, nothing went to waste, and all the kids had a blast playing on them.

Small changes, its ones like these that lessen the impact on the planet - what do you think?

Glam and Green at the J&B Met 2012

Glam and Green at the J&B Met 2012

On Saturday the 28th of January 2012, South Africa's finest headed to the Kenilworth Race Course in Cape Town to strut their stuff.

I only found out that I was a attending 2 hours before I arrived, so had to quickly grab something out of my closet, luckily I'm a glamazon so there was no need to stress ;)

The theme for this year was 'Made Different' and boy-oh-boy did some people take that to the extreme..

I was however, so delighted to see people in Glam and Green outfits ©

A little accident during the December holiday fun left me camera-less so I couldn't take photos of the awesome outfits, but I managed to find some on Thunda and through people who emailed me

images I found on Thunda, if this is you, let me know :)

I saw a girl rush past me in a dress that looked similar to this, SO Glam & Green!

Michael Williams & his friends in their Glam & Green outfits-awesome!

Hope you all feel a bit inspired fro the next time you have to dress up for an event
