[REVIEW]: LA Girl Matte Pigment Gloss

Dreamy; Fantasy & Rebel from LA Girl Cosmetics

I've mentioned these glosses a few times on my snapchat (username: glamgreengirl) and even in this YouTube video - so here is a full review of these that I've been chatting nonstop about.

The LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss is less of a lipgloss and more of a liquid lipstick in my opinion. It creates a matte effect and have a slightly sticky feeling.

When they launched in South Africa, I took advantage of the special that Dis-Chem was having and bought 3 colours - Dreamy; Fantasy & Rebel.

I wore Rebel to the SA Beauty Blog awards as it made such a great statement colour for my outfit and I've tried to wear Fantasy a few times but it comes out as too much of a neon pink on my lips. My favourite and the one that I mentioned in my video, is Dreamy, I wear it nearly everyday!

I'm not too sure if Dis-Chem still stock these as they no longer have them at the hazeldean branch but they sold for R70.00 each and while I'm not the biggest fan of Fantasy and will save Rebel for nights out, I adore Dreamy!

Did you try any of these LA Girl glosses?

[TRAVEL]: Sparkling Waters Hotel - Magaliesberg

Sparkling Waters Hotel & Spa - Magaliesberg, South Africa

Located in the heart of the Magaliesberg mountains, on the same premises as the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour , is the Sparkling Waters Hotel and Spa. Just a short trip from Gauteng, it's a getaway that is just around the corner.

Warm hospitality; a long list of activities to keep you busy and an award winning spa is what you will find at Sparkling Waters Hotel

Along with my brother who joined me for my Magaliesberg Canopy Tour, we spent the night at the hotel and enjoyed every minute. After we finished the Canopy Tour, Ryan and I had a few drinks at the pool and then indulged in a competitive game of mini golf. This was then followed by a session on the trampoline (I'm a real kid at heart when it comes to those) and then even hit the games room afterwards! Hey, this is what siblings do when we're away! After our day of ziplining; putt putt and games, we gorged ourselves on a delicious three course meal.

What I loved most about Sparkling Waters Hotel, was the amazing location, you are surrounded by such beautiful flora and the grounds are immaculately kept!

Below are some of my photos from our stay over:

For more information and prices, visit the Sparkling Waters Hotel website.
Thank you for the wonderful stay Sparkling Waters Hotel!

Have you visited Magaliesberg recently?

[REVIEW]: New Makeup Winter 2015

New Makeup I'm Testing Out This Winter

Today on the blog, I'm sharing a few of my top cruelty free choices for new makeup that I've using the past few weeks.

First up we have the Essence I love nude eyeshadow range in 03 Crème Brulee (top picture) and 05 My Favourite Tauping (second picture). These eyeshadows ar perfect for everyday wear as they can be worn together or separately. They are both gorgeous nudes, My Favourite Tauping being a bit darker is great to use on your outer eyelid while using Crème Brulee more towards the inner part of your eyelid as it's lighter. These Essence eyeshadows are silky and have a sating smooth texture, plus they are long lasing which is great because these beauties only cost R47.95 each.
*Available at Clicks and Dischem

Another Essence product, one that I am kind of obsessed with. It's the Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara that really treats your eyelashes like royalty. I've tried an essence mascara before and wasn't impressed but this one is amazing!  It lengthens your lashes and adds volume without clumping them. I can't wait to do a makeup tutorial on my YouTube Channel with this mascara to show you how great it really is. It retails for R63,50 so I'm definitely going to stock up on a few bottles of these.
*Available at Clicks and Dischem

This is from a brand called CALA which you can find at Dischem. It's my first time using one of their brushes so I decided to try out the cruelty free eyeshadow brush called Angled Shadow 314. It's only 29.95 ,has soft bristles and is great for blending darker colours along the outer corner of your eyelid. I'm definitely going to buy some more of their brushes (just double check their packaging though because not all are cruelty free).
*Available at Dischem

This gorgeous bronzing powder is from the amazing Dr Hauschka brand, I lust over all their makeup - so beautiful. This powder gives your skin a beautiful sun kissed look, apply to your cheeks for a bronzed look or a light layer over your face to give yourself a bit of tan. It retails for R458.00
*Available at www.tocara4.co.za

This liquid eyeliner is a Conditioning Liquid Eyeliner from Lash Food that helps your lashes to become longer; thicker and stronger. I got this from the lovely Leoni from Infinity Skincare and will get more details on prices and where it's available from soon. The packaging doesn't state that this eyeliner is waterproof but it sure feels like that when I'm trying to remove it haha.

This eye pencil broke as I was photographing it :( but it just shows you how soft this Jumbo Eye Pencil from LA Girls is. This colour is called Sun Kissed and is a gorgeous metallic golden brown. I think it was about R20.00 and adds a gorgeous pop to your eye look.
*Available from Dischem.

I'm not sure what I love more about this brush, the soft bristles or the pastel purple with lace detail. This Powder Brush from Essence is perfect for applying loose or pressed powder and like I said, has soft, velvety bristles. It retails for R57.95 - there are some really cute brushes in this collection!
*Available at Clicks and Dischem

Would you like to see me use these products in a few videos soon? Let me know which ones you've tried.

REVIEW: Bioderma BB Cream

Sensibio AR BB Cream from Bioderma

Hi beauties!

Today's review is on the Sensibio AR BB Cream from the brand Bioderma. Now I know many of you beauties will be shocked to hear this, but I have never tried anything from Bioderma (although I have been wanting to try the Sensibio H20) so I was looking forward to testing this product out.

Before I chat about the product, for my fellow animals, Bioderma does not conduct tests on animals! Yay for cruelty free brands!

This BB cream is formulated to help reduce temporary redness (from weather conditions, emotions, diet, heat etc) or permanent redness (from small visible veins, or rosacea). Made with the patented Sensibio AR Rosactiv®, it acts directly on the sources of redness.

What I liked about this product:
- I sometimes have red rings under my eyes and I did notice that it helped reduce the redness
- It has SPF 30 (especially great now that the weather has warmed up)
- It's gives a medium coverage
- It's fragrance free and cruelty free

What I didn't like about this product:
- It's quite thick, so to me it felt like a foundation but didn't give the full coverage of foundation
- The colour is too dark to be 'light' (as you'll see in the picture below, bear in mind that I have just returned from Zambia when I took this photo so my hand was tanned)

So even though I wasn't the greatest fan of this product, I won't be despondent and give up on the brand - anyone have any suggestions on what products I should try from Bioderma?

Love Always, The Glam Green Girl xXx
