[REVIEW]: Milk & Honey Bath Soak

Earth Sap - Milk & Honey Bath Soak

Nothing beats a relaxing bath after a long day right? I always add a little oil or a few scoops of bath salts to add to the indulgence of relaxing in a hot bath tub. This bath soak from Earth Sap is the latest next to my bath.

With a milk and honey scent that smells so good, these sea salts help provide your skin with nourishment and the added milk and honey serve as a natural source of vitamins. Plus, this soak is utterly relaxing.

Made from a handful of simple ingredients such as sea salt; milk; honey; peppermint; lemon; orange; lavender; Epsom salts and eucalyptus oil, a few scoops of this indulgent bath soak will add bliss to your bath time.

Its a big tub (450ml) and it is recyclable, plus you can definitely find ways to reuse this tub afterwards I'm sure. Along with smelling great, it also leaves your skin feeling great. Sometimes after using a bath soak, my skin feels so dry afterwards so luckily this wasn't the case after using these bath salts.

REVIEW: Healing Earth

Marula & Neroli Products from Healing Earth

Hi Lovely!

A few weeks ago I was sent these two indulgent products from Healing Earth and they could not have come at a better time! I was just recovering from bad flu when I received them  and have been under a lot of stress so these products have definitely been a delight in my life lately.

Neroli is one of the main components in these two products and is one of  my favourite scents! What I love about Neroli is that it can be used on sensitive skin; can help treat scars as well as anxiety plus it can be worn as a perfume!

This Marulla & Neroli Oil is splendid for relaxation. It's ideal to apply to your skin after a shower or bath in an upwards stroke but my favourite is to add a few drops to my bath and to lie back, relax and enjoy the enchanting scent. Along with the Marula and Neroli Oils, it also contains Lavender Oil to help you unwind after a long day.

This Marula and Neroli Face & Body Balm has been one of my favourite products this winter! Absolutely love it! As I've already explained, I utterly love the scent plus it's super hydrating and nourishing as it's made from ingredients such as Shea butter; Coconut Oil; Baobab Oil; Sweet Almond Oil as well as Neroli and Marula Oil. Since it's a balm and can be quite oily, I like to use it at night after a bath.

Have a look at the Healing Earth website to see what other products they stock.

REVIEW: Zoya & SOHO

A SOHO Signature Manicure & Pedicure with Zoya Nail Polish

A few weeks ago I was treated to the most DIVINE (had to use caps lock to express how great it was) manicure and pedicure at the SOHO nyc salon in Sandton. Situated in the hustle and bustle and fabulosity of Sandton City Shopping Centre, you really do feel like you're in New York City!

I received the SOHO signature Manicure Pedicure and could choose any Zoya nail polish colour I wanted.

some of the Zoya colours

I was fascinated how the water turned into this cool jelly!

The colours I chose - Raven and Noel

I chose a fun pink for my toes - Caprice
(at least I'll have pretty toes to look at in yoga class)

I decided to mix it up from my usual ring finger as my signature nail and to do 2 signature nails - a friend commented that the Noel colour suited me as it's the same colour as Ariel's tail in Little Mermaid haha

My nails a week later!

The SOHO Signature Manicure and Pedicure was hands down the BEST I've ever had! Such an amazing vibe at the salon and the staff were just incredible!

So to spread the love for this fantastic treatment, SOHO and Zoya are giving a SOHO Signature Manicure and Pedicure valued to the amount of R490 to one of my lucky readers!

Enter below:

Please note that this is only available at the SOHO nyc salon in Sandton so it is only open to Gauteng residents. However, if you still want to enter and pass it on to a friend in Gauteng, I'm sure we can work something out :)

REVIEW: Dr Hauschka Facial

A Divine Dr Hauschka Facial

Last week I was treated to an amazing facial by Samantha Westlake-Bown, from the Dr Hauschka team. But instead of me trying to explain everything, I asked Samantha to send me the low down of the process she used while spoiling me with a wonderful experience (see my response in italic black)

Facial Process:

·         Applied fragrant Lavender compresses(Dr.Hauschka compresses soaked in Dr.Hauschka Lavender bath) to the face and décolleté to prepare the face for its first cleanse. These compresses smelt amazing, the lavender totally relaxed me in preparation of my facial

·         Removed makeup using the cleansing lotion and Dr.Hauschka Sponges moving from the center of the face outwards to work with the direction of lymphatic flow. Dr Hauschka believes in stimulating the lymphatic flow of the face (see below for more information)

·         Applied more fragrant lavender bath compresses to prepare the face for a deep cleanse. Divine!

·         Cleansed the face using Dr.Hauschka cleansing cream to gently cleanse, fortify and exfoliate the skin whilst not disturbing your protective hydo-lipid layer. Non foaming to avoid stripping the skin of important oils. Dr Hauschka doesn't believe in exfoliating the skin, as you remove not only old skin cells but damage the new "baby" skin cells which can lead to pigmentation.

·         Gently steamed the face using a hand held steamer containing facial steam bath to open the pores whilst softening blackheads and impurities. Since it was a small hand held steamer, it wasn't too harsh on my skin.

·         After steaming we apply the cleansing clay mask to draw all impurities out of the pores and skin and bind to dirt particles on the skins surface-this mask is left on for 5-10 minutes depending on skin condition. Samantha used this mask to gently remove dead skin cells, instead of harshly scrubbing it away.

·         After removing clay mask we commence with Lymph stimulation-Using soft Dr.Hauschka Lymph stimulation brushes the skin is gently and effectively stroked and massaged to stimulate the wafer thin lymph capillaries. This helps remove metabolic waste and excess fluid found in the face whilst allowing fresh oxygen and nutrients to penetrate your cells, leaving your tissues purified and detoxified. This stimulates your bodies self cleansing powers gently and in an unobtrusive or abrasive manner. I was fascinated by this process! I've even begun to cleanse, tone and moisturise my skin using this method - work from the center of your face outwards eg: from your nose to your cheeks.

·         After this a treatment mask is applied to the skin. This mask is chosen specifically to suit your skin condition at present and helps the skin to adjust to changing environmental conditions and external stresses. The 4 types are soothing mask, moisturizing mask, rejuvenating mask and firming mask. It provides the skin with specific concentrated ingredients to help heal, nourish and revitalise the skin. Samantha applied the rejuvenating mask to my skin

·         While this mask is on the face the décolleté area is gently massaged using specific soft Dr.Hauschka techniques. One of the Dr.Hauschka indulgent body oils are used for this-lemon lemongrass, rose, blackthorn, moor lavender, almond stjons wort, or birch arnica body oils. The lemon-lemongrass oil was used to massage my decollete area, the scent is so invigorating!

·         To complete the facial we use fragrant infused compresses of lemon bath to take you out of your slumber. This fragrance really does revitalise you and gives you a "wake up" - I loved it!

·         Followed by toner and one of the day creams. Read my review on these two products here

If you are in the Gauteng area and you are interested in treating yourself to a Dr Hauschka facial - let me know and I'll put you in contact with Samantha!

ZAMBIA: June 2013

Long Weekend in Zambia

Last weekend I popped up to Zambia with my dad for the long weekend, what a WILD weekend! It consisted of crocodile catching; the boat breaking down as the sun set and a baby hippo attacking the back of the boat!So many adventures, and so many laughs!

Here are a few of my photos:

Croc catching (and releasing)

We had lunch the one day at our usual spot, under a tree and the next day on a small island - does it get any better then sitting next to the Zambezi eating lunch?

The magic of nature

I was so grateful that I was able to spend Fathers Day with my awesome dad on the Zambezi River! We always have so much fun together on our trips!

One of my favourite photos from this trip!

Thank you so much for allowing me to share my photos with you!
