[REVIEW]: Beaucience Night Time Routine

Night Nourishing Cream & Eye Lifting Gel from Beaucience

In August, I reviewed two Beaucience products and mentioned to you guys that I wasn't the biggest fan of their cleansing gel and that the eye make up remover wasn't going to exactly be on the top of my 'must buy' list but I've added two new Beaucience products to my night time routine and must admit that I'm impressed!

Beaucience, is a proudly South African professional skin care brand that focuses on natural and organic ingredients and uses South African ingredients where possible, environmentally friendly packaging, recyclable glass and bio-degradable plastic. Yay for that!

I'm usually a bit hesitant when it comes to night creams as they are sometimes to rich for my skin, but this one seems to be agreeing with my skin. Made from Avocado oil, Marula oil, Hibiscus oil, Sunflower oil, Evening Primrose oil and Green Tea oil, this luxurious cream helps to rejuvenate your skin and keeps it nourished. I apply a small amount each evening and like I mentioned, it's working well for my skin.

This Night Nourishing Cream retails for R355.

This Eye Lifting Gel is amazing! It was the first thing I packed for the wedding I attended on the weekend. It's a hydrating gel that can be applied both mornings and evenings and helps repair and protect the delicate skin around your eyes. If you are like me and get those bags under your eyes from not sleeping well or allergies, this gel is what you need!

This Eye Lifting Gel retails for R480.

You can find out more information about the brand and their other products on their website.

[REVIEW]: Africology Body Range

Look Good & Feel Good with Africology

Africology is a South African brand that is natural; eco-friendly and holistic. It's a brand that I've heard lots about but only recently tried their products out. With summer around the corner, they sent me these products to help me look good and feel good. I enjoy the fact that Africology only uses natural ingredients that balance with your body bringing a holistic approach to your skincare. Plus, they are local!

This Slimming Detox Cream contains a blend of seaweed; ivy; horsetail; queen-meadow and biting clematis which apparently helps with the slimming and firming action of the cream. It also contains the essential oils of Juiper; Rosemary and Lemon Verbena, which creates a scent that makes you feel like you are in a spa environment. Caffeine and guarana extract help trigger your cells to burn fat.

I expected this detox cream to have a body butter consistency but it's a light cream that can be used both day and night. I prefer to use it at night after body brushing.

This product retails for R320.00

A natural shimmer in a body balm? This is created by mica minerals that create a natural shimmer and make you feel like you want to go head to a beach party! While this Renewal Body Glow Balm intensely hydrates your skin and gives you a glow with the shimmer, it's an everyday product in my books. I like to use a body balm when I got to bed so I can let my skin soak it up but the shimmer in this balms puts me off from doing that. Having said that though, now that the nights are getting longer, it's great for the summer parties! Plus, it has a divine floral scent!

This product retails for R500.00

For more information or to find out about their spas, go pop over to their website!

Which Africology products have you tried? I've heard great things about their serums!

[REVIEW]: LUSH Shower Jelly

Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly from LUSH

With scents of blackcurrant; cherries and bergamont essential oils, this shower jelly smells like heaven. Maybe it is because I have an extreme love for cherries that I enjoy this scent so much but this fruity; wobbly; dark purple shower jelly is a love affair for your nose in a tub. A tub which is recycled by the way!  Chicara from Lipgloss Kisses was the first one to introduce me to this Shower Jelly and has a great post on it here. We were at the opening of the Lush store in Gauteng when she convinced me to buy it, one whiff of the Sweetie Pie scent and I was sold.

Another reason why I love it? It has shimmer! Yes, shimmer! Well techincally it's called snowflake lustre which is usually used for cake decorations. Nevertheless, it sparkles and I like that!

So what is a Shower Jelly? Well it's wobbly yet still a bit firm, you can use it as a whole piece or cut it up into small pieces. You can even freeze it to make it firmer but I haven't tried that yet. The label describes it as a combination of a soap bar and a shower gel resulting in a jelly. I cut a small piece from the whole jelly and rub it into my loofah resulting in a foamy cherry scented body wash.

What are my final thoughts on this product? Would I buy it again? If I had to make a decision based on a scent, then yes, but I think there are other shower gels from Lush I want to try first before I repurchase this Shower Jelly.

This Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly is R75.00 for 100g and you can purchase it online here.

ps: have you seen my YouTube video on my first impressions of LUSH?

Have you tried a LUSH shower jelly yet? Any suggestions for a shower gel I should try from LUSH?

REVIEW: INOAR Extreme Premium Oil

Extreme Premium Oil from INOAR

Hi beauties!

In May, I reviewed the INOAR Argan Oil and fell head over heels for it, the scent; the texture; the way it made my hair feel.. I doubted I would find anything that could live up to the hype I had created for it.. enter, the Extreme Premium Oil!

This luxurious oil contains extracts of Mrryh (as it's base); argan; macadamia and rose imperial oils as well as coconut oil and sesame oil. This is the first product from INOAR that contains myrrh

Here's what I learnt from the INOAR team at the launch of this product:

Argan Oil & Macadamia Oil are best for your hair as they add a great boost of moisture to hair follicles.
♥ Coconut Oil & Sesame Oil help to boost and promote hair growth, they help prevent spilt ends and they help chemically treated hair.
♥ Myrrh which has used as the healing oil of ancient times, and which is still used today to heal, is great for dry & sensitive hair and scalps. As well as being anti-inflammatory; anti-parasitic and having astringent benefits, myrrh has an anti-oxidant effect.
♥ Oils are the future of hair care. Through the combination of essential oils, you can find the best benefits for your hair.

Although I really loved the INOAR Argan Oil, I didn't enjoy the bottle as I felt like it needed to be a pump bottle. Low and behold, the extreme premium oil's bottle is a pump bottle *round of applause please*. While I raved about the scent of the INOAR Argan OIl, imagine adding rose imperial oil to that combination! It's smells heavenly

This oil treatment can be used on dry hair to help spilt ends as well as to calm down those pesky fly-aways as well as on damp hair to help protect your hair from heat tools and to give it a healthy boost.
Little tip, whatever remainders I have of this oil, I actually use it on my face as I believe in the healing powers of the oils used!

This Extreme Premium Oil is available at www.inoar.co.za and retails for R545 for 50ml (a little bit goes a long way though).

Would you purchase this oil?
ps: INOAR is cruelty-free!

REVIEW: Firm Body Scrub

Firm Body Scrub from Blendbox

Hi beautiful friends!

Today I want to share with you on the blog, a divine body scrub that I received at the Bloggers Who Bless (a blogging group that I'm part of) Christmas In July party. It's the Firm Body Scrub from one of my favourite cruelty-free South African brands, Blendbox. You can read more about the brand here

Last year I got some Blendbox goodies and I loved each product, especially the Calm Room Spray & the Calm Body Scrub. I had been saving my Calm Body Scrub as it's one of the best scrubs that I've used lately and sadly a few weeks ago it finished *sob* so imagine my delight when I received this new scrub.

First of all it says that it helps firm skin, um hello summer body! From that statement it was already in my good books! Made from essential oils to tone and firm skin, detoxify your lymphatic system as well as help get rid of cellulite, this scrub is just what I need ahead of the upcoming bikini season.

With ingredients such as Shea Butter; Avocado Butter; Cocoa Butter and Citrus Oils, not only does this scrub hydrate your skin while getting rid of dead skin cells, but the citrus oils also help your immune system.

The reason why I love scrubs from Blendbox so much is because of the fact that they use so many essential oils, so there is no need to apply moisturiser after you've stepped out of the shower!

Although I like the citrus sent of this product from the firm range, I will admit that the Calm range has the best scent for me. Apparently Blendbox have launched a new range, the grace range which sounds divine!

GGG Tip: Eucalyptus Oil

Using Eucalyptus Oil for Colds & Flu

Hi friends!

So since I was in Zambia last weekend, I've been so sick with flu - it's really kicked my butt! Although I didn't want to, I've eventually ended up on antibiotics to try clear it. One of the symptoms I've been suffering the most with is congestion (deep wheezy breathe in, deep wheezy breathe out) but I'v been using Eucalyptus Oil to try relieve some of my blocked up congestion.

One of the tips I learnt about using Eucalyptus Oil for colds and flu is to sprinkle a few drops on the shower floor and this then acts as a steam inhalation! I'm not going to lie to you, I pretty much pour about half of the bottle on the floor as I'm so desperate at the moment but after my shower I can breathe a bit easier. Another tip for using Eucalyptus Oil, is to add a few drops to your bath! For more tips check out this post on Autumn Care.

You can get Organic Eucalyptus Oil from SOil from Faithful To Nature for R25 or your local Clicks should stock some too. Faithful To Nature  also has a few more tips on how to use Eucalyptus Oil as a decongestant.

Hope this tip helps for those of you that are all blocked up!

REVIEW: Oh-Lief Body Products

Oh-Lief Natural Body Wash & Natural Lip Balm

During my quest to find South Africa beauty companies that are cruelty free, I came across a South African brand that makes 100% natural & organic body products. Oh-Lief specialises in baby products but also have a body range. The Oh-Lief name references to Olive Oil, one of the main ingredients in their products.

Here are the two products I got to test out:
The Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Natural Body Wash
The Roman Chamomile Natural Lip Balm

Made from ingredients such as Olive Oil; Sesame Seed Oil; Grapefruit Oil and Sweet Orange Oil, this body wash is what it states 'fresh and uplifting'. I prefer to use this body wash in the morning, as I always associate citrus scents with an uplifted mood and  a fresh morning feel - anyone else with me? I also really enjoy the bottle that it comes in, I think when this body wash is finished I will use it for my body lotions!

So this natural lip balm has a new home, next to my bed! Made from Olive Oil; Grapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil; Beeswax; Lavender Oil and Chamomile Oil, this lip balm is not only hydrating by has a scent that leaves you feeling calm and relaxed. Out of the two products, this one is my favourite and I can tell it's going to become a staple in my bedtime routine!

Have you tried any of the Oh-Lief products? For new moms and moms-to-be there are some really cute products! You can check out more here on their website

REVIEW: Blendbox

Blendbox

A few weeks ago I received a beautiful parcel from the lovely Miemie with these amazing Blendbox products. Blendbox was started after 16 years of blending essential oils for therapeutic purposes.  All of Blendbox's products are focused on a holistic philopsophy and blend selection of essential oils with Grape Seed, Sweet Almond Oil and Apricot Kernel oils.

My thoughts on the products I tried:

The Hatchling Hand Cream is blended with Mandarin Oil, a scent I had to become used to but now it stays right next to my bed and I look forward to pampering my hands with it every night.

The Firm Body Butter is great to use at night as it's quite thick, but it has a subtle scent so if you use it all over your body, it doesn't overpower you.

I still need to try the Soap (I hate having half used soaps lying around so I rather finish one before I use another)

I also still need to burn my Blendbox candle!

The Calm Body Scrub is amazing! One of the main essential oils in this scrub is lavender oil which leaves you feeling relaxed once you've stepped out the shower with you soft and polished skin. I love using this product before I go to an event or before a night out as the oils are so soaked up by your skin after using the gentle scrub.

Last but not least, my favourite product - the Calm Room & Pillow Spray! I spray this every night in my room and over my bed as the smell is just divine! It completely relaxes me and I would walk around spraying everywhere I went if I could haha.

All of the Blendbox products are made with love; essential oils and there are definitely no nasty ingredients in them! For more information, follow Blendbox on twitter

What Blendbox products have you tried?
