[BEAUTY]: Juice Beauty Glowing Cheek Colour

There is something about finding a blush product that works for your skin tone and is just so pretty that really makes a girl happy! This is how I felt when I first tested the Juice Beauty Glowing Cheek Colour in Pink.

This blush is a lovely shade of pink, not too dark yet not the baby pink shades I usually wear. Made from a blend of tinted minerals and enriched with Vitamin E, this blush has made it's way to the top of my  beauty product list!

The plant based ingredients of this blush are as follows:

♥ Cornstarch and tapioca powder give the formula a lightweight, even and silky finish.
♥ Raspberry and strawberry seed oils are rich in essential fatty acids.
♥ Grape seed and cranberry seed oils keep the skin looking fresh and youthful, by supporting its collagen and elastin levels.
Pomegranate, acai, goji and blueberry seed oils are packed with protective antioxidants to fight off free radicals.
♥  Aloe leaf juice is soothing and healing
source: Faithful-To-Nature

Tap a bit of the powder into the lid of the jar and then lightly apply using a powder/blush brush to the apples of your cheeks. Build up the colour if you feel necessary.

If you are looking for more of a bronze colour, this blush also comes in Fig.

Below is a photo of me wearing a light dusting of the blush, it's the from the same look of the make up I bought in Janaury which you can read here.

[REVIEW]: LUSH Angels on Bare Skin

Facial and Body Cleanser - Angels on Bare Skin from LUSH

Angels on you skin, hmmm I wonder what would that feel like? Similar to using Rose Oil & Lavender Oil on your skin? Pretty sure it would be close to using Angels on Bare Skin from LUSH.

Made from ground almonds; lavender oil; kaolin clay; rose oil; lavender flowers and more - this facial cleanser (which can also be used on your body) is gentle on your skin yet has an exfoliating effect thanks to the ground almonds.

It reminds me a lot of the Balm Balm Hibiscus Face Mask (I've chatted about it in this video). This is because you need to mix it with a little bit of water to create a paste. You only need to use a tiny bit which is great because you obviously want to keep your LUSH products for as long as possible ;)

Soft, gentle and caring - it's a great cleanser for all types of skin!

This cleanser retails for R160.00 for 100g

Have you tried this LUSH cleanser yet?

[REVIEW]: Dr Hauschka Kajal Eyeliner

Black Kajal Eyeliner from Dr Hauschka

Eyeliner is every girl's best friend and I don't go a day without wearing it. I always wear it on my top lash line and for nights out I use it on my lower lashes. Dr Hauschka has amazing natural make up and this eyeliner fits right into that category.

The Kajal Eyeliner from Dr Hauschka comes in both brown and black. It sweeps easily onto your eyelids and stays on throughout the day. It's made from plant waxes and oil which help care for delicate eye areas. It's also made from Witch Hazel and Black Tea Extracts which create a soothing effect and which also means it's suitable for those with sensitive skin. I love this as I have a sensitive eye area which means I have to be careful with what eye products I use.

This eyeliner also comes with a smudge applicator on the other end to help you achieve that smokey eye look. Thanks to the Carnauba wax & jojoba oil, it's easy to apply.

Natural; vegan; cruelty free and gentle on your eyes - what more could a Glam Green Girl ask for?

This eyeliner retails for R250.00 and is available from Faithful To Nature.

Love Always, The Glam Green Girl xXx

REVIEW: Karen Murrell Lipstick

Peony Petal by Karen Murrell

Hi beauties!

I can't tell you how long I have been lusting over a Karen Murrell Lipstick! My desire of owning one of these lipsticks grew after reading some of my favourite international green beauty bloggers rave about them on posts like this one from Hello Dollface and this one from Genuine Glow

Before I share some more photos of this gorgeous lipstick, let me tell you more about why they are such fabulous green beauty lipsticks. Karen Murrell lipsticks don't contain any mineral oils; animal-based materials; parabens or preservatives. They are made from natural based ingredients. Even their packaging is eco-friendly, the canisters dissolve in 100 days and return to Mother Earth and the outer packaging is 100% recyclable!

I love this Peony Petal shade - it's a beautiful peach colour, with a hint of coral as well as a nude. It's a gorgeous colour that can be worn all year round but I think this shade is perfect for spring and summer. With ingredients such as Shea Butter; Sweet Orange Oil; Evening Primrose Oil; Jojoba Seed Oil; Avocardo Oil and Beeswax, this lipstick is both hydrating and nourishing. Active ingredients such as Evening Primrose Oil; Castor Oil and Candelilla make sure of this! It has a scent of cinnamon and citrus and this is from the oils.

As much as I love this lipstick and I really hope to start a collection of them, they are quite pricey and retail for R359 on Faithful To Nature *eeeek*. For more information and to check out the other gorgeous shades, head to the Infinity Skincare Website where there are more stockists listed.

"Nothing nasty touches my lips" - love this!

REVIEW: Vitamin Therapy Masque

Vitamin Therapy Masque by Dermafix

Hi beauties!

Happy Monday! To start off this week, I'll be giving you my thoughts on this new masque I've been trying out, the Vitamin Therapy Masque from Dermafix.

I received this masque at the end of July at the Bloggers Who Bless Christmas in July party that I mentioned about here. Before I tell you more about the masque, let me tell you about Beauty-Worx, the online store where Dermafix is available from. Beauty-Worx was founded in 2013 as a way for those who have a love for beauty products, but don't have time to always hit the shops, to find their favourite products as well as some new products. Beauty-Worx focuses on selling the more niche, unusual or high end products that were already a firm favourite among their clients. Even though Beauty-Worx is an online store, Wendy, the owner, strives to make your online shopping experience as personal as possible and believes that customer satisfaction is key. If you head over to the site, you'll see that there are some really great products available as well as some superb beauty tips.

This Vitamin Therapy Masque is extremely hydrating - which I absolutely love. It's for all skin types and I try use it twice a week. It's high in sterolins, which is said to help reduce the appearance of age spots, scarring and sun damage. Maybe you're like me and you're wondering "what are sterolins?", well sterolins are the natural compounds found in fruits and vegetables. It's literally vegetable fat and is so important for the human body (source).

This masque is actually more than a masque though. You can use the conventional way by applying it to your face after you've cleansed your skin and then rinsing it off after about 15 minutes or you can use this nifty little trick that Wendy taught me, and you can leave it on and use it as a night cream. I had been using it as a masque but decided one night to apply a thin layer and sleep with it on, and I definitely enjoyed how moisturised my skin felt when I woke up. You can even use a small amount for your hands before you go to bed to keep them soft and hydrated.

I'm also a fan of the easy to use pump bottle - so great for not causing any messes!

Dermafix is an environmentally conscious brand and is not tested on animals; does not have any artificial colours; does not include animal ingredients or parabens!

This masque retails for R430 and can be found here. After looking through they other Dermafix products that Beauty-Worx stocks, my wishlist has definitely grown!

REVIEW: Esse Refining Cleanser

New Product from Esse

Hi everyone!

I've been using this Refining Cleanser from Esse for the past few weeks and I have really been enjoying it! I'm a big fan of Esse because they are a certified organic; Trade Fair; Vegan and Cruelty Free brand and I love all their products that I've used so far such as the Eye Make Up Remover and the Gel Cleanser. Here's some more information on this new cleanser from Esse:

- It's a light foaming clay that detoxifies your skin while cleansing it
- It's made from bentonite clay that gently exfoliates your skin
- It also contains Kalahari Melon Oil which adds Omega 6 essential fatty acids to your skin

Here's my personal opinion on the product:

- When I first tried it, I wasn't expecting it to be so thick. It felt more like a mask than a cleanser but after I used it a few times I got used to the thick consistency.
- It's a very gentle exfoliator but I only exfoliate about once a week so I use this product about every 2 or 3 nights. Also, with the change of season I've been suffering from dry skin and the bentonite clay I find dries out my skin a bit so that's why I alternate between cleansers (I think if you have oily skin, it would be perfect to use daily).
- This product is great for those "lazy" days when you just want to use minimal products in your skincare routine. Some nights I remove my eye make-up; use this cleanser and then use a serum - easy peasy in 3 steps!

This cleanser retails at R190 for 150ml and you can check out the esse website for stockists.

Have you used any Esse products before? What's your favourite?

REVIEW: Trio Bath Salts

Trio Bath Salts from Hey Gorgeous

I had been wanting to try out some Hey Gorgeous products for a while, especially after all the great things Bronwyn from Mother City Mom had to say. So when I was buying products from my Birthday Hamper, I thought I would buy something for myself too! I finally decided on the Trio Bath Salts after reading their description "Trio bath salts are perfect for tired, achey muscles, made with black, pink and yellow organic salts, blended for their theraputic and
healing properties."

What I love about Hey Gorgeous is that they are use natural and organic ingredients, and their products are free from parabens, SLS, artifical colouring and fragrances or anything harmful. They are also handmade and can be altered to your specifications!

Here's what I thought:

Likes
ü The smell, one word to describe it? “Fresh”
ü  I used these bath salts after a yoga session and felt invigorated afterwards
üIt’s made from natural ingredients such as sea salt; Charcoal salts; Himalaya Pink Salt; Organic Salt Crystals; Epsom Salts and Essential Oils
ü I love the different layers from the different ingredients

Dislikes
û  The cap doesn’t work properly for the salts, I had to unscrew the whole cap to get some of the product out (see pic below)
û  The charcoal salt left my bath in a black mess. Plus, because of the essentails oils, it made black marks on my body

Next on my list to try from Hey Gorgeous is their Vanilla Body Mousse, how divine does that sound?

To see what products they have, check out their brochure or follow them on twitter

Which Hey Gorgeous products have you tried out?

REVIEW: Sparitual: Meditate Collection

Meditate: Spring 2013 Collection

I was thrilled when I was sent some products from the new range by Sparitual. I had seen the nail polish a few times in some health stores but never got around to buying one (even though I always questioned myself 'why didn't I buy it?' each time I left the store).

Before I tell you more about the 2013 Spring Collection, let me tell you more about Sparitual.

Sparitual nail lacquer are vegan (they use Mica in their shimmers instead of Guanin, which is fish scales). They are also free of DBP; toulene; formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin - YAY for being toxin-free! Also, the bottle of nail lacquer is made in Italy from reusable glass with up to 50% recycled materials and is recyclable with proper care!

Meditate Collection:

I already feel calmer when I look at this collection (interesting how the colours can affect you). Sparitual believe that colour has the physiological power to soothe or seduce, nurture or ignite. You can definitely tell that the designers of this collection hit the nail on the head in terms of it igniting a meditative state of mind.

I was sent the colours 'Energy' and 'Calm and Clear' but when I painted my nails for this post I did a terrible job and was way too embarrased to post it ;) but will redo them soon and post it for you.

I've seen the brand at a few health shops and spas but you can also get them online at style36 and at Faithful To Nature

Which colour is your favourite?

REVIEW: AYA Cosmetics - Lipsticks

Bare Basics Lipstick Collection by AYA Cosmetics

I was thrilled when Elizabeth, CEO of AYA Cosmetics, emailed me to say she had come across my blog and loved it! I was even more thrilled when she asked if I was willing to test out some of her lipsticks from her newly launched range!

I had never tested 'natural' lipsticks as I find natural make up to be so expensive ( I prefer saving that money for natural skincare) but imagine my delight when I found out how reasonably priced these lipsticks were - its about $16.95 (Australian Dollars) so when I worked it out at the current exchange rate of $1=R9.24, these beauties sell for about R157. Not too bad right?

{Let me tell you why they are worth it}

From the Glam side:
they are creamy; the colour lasts and they have a subtle sweet scent

From the Green side:
They are vegan; lead-free; cruelty-free; packaged in all recyclable materials - "Our products are made without nasty additives: parabens, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. We also avoid compromising the environment by using packaging derived from post-consumer, recycled and bio-degradable materials. This means that all of our packaging is eco-friendly – from the sleekly designed box containing the product, to the packing and wrapping materials used for its delivery to your doorstep." AYA website

The Colours:

1. The Particular Pink is perfect for when Im having one of my Barbie days ;)
2. The Just Peachy is great when you want to add a bit of colour, I love that its not to orange, not too pink but the perfect shade of peach.
3 .The In The Buff shade is what I was mostly complimented on, perhaps as it is closest to my natural shade
4. The Naturally Nude is great for when you want to focus on your eyes, example: if you are rocking the smokey eye look

Thank you so much Elizabeth for letting me test out these great shades!
If you are interested in them - check out the AYA Cosmetics website to see how you can get your hands on these Glam and Green lipsticks!

Aaaaand I'm just too excited not to share this with you - I will be running a giveaway where you could win your own Bare Basics Lipstick from AYA Cosmetics in May! Look out for that exciting competition soon!
